In this high-profile project, I co-led the Integration Management Office (IMO) to oversee and execute the merger of three separate legal entities: Volkswagen India, Skoda Auto India, and Volkswagen Group Sales. This merger was a crucial step in aligning operations under a unified structure and enhancing synergies across the brands.
Key Highlights:
Transformation Strategy: Skoda Auto a.s. took over India operations, initiating the merger of all three entities into one cohesive unit.
Leadership Role: Co-led the IMO, working closely with a reputed consultant to manage key workstreams, including Tax & Legal, Finance, IT, and HR.
Workstream Leadership: Took leadership of the Homologation, Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Quality Management workstreams, ensuring a smooth transition and integration process.
Successful Merger: The merger was completed successfully within the set timeline, with the appointed date being April 1, 2019, and the merger finalized on October 30, 2019.
Financial Impact: Achieved a synergy of €27M (~₹218 Cr) through streamlined operations, significantly improving the financial efficiency and operational capabilities of the merged entity.
This project was pivotal in driving the successful integration of three major entities within the Volkswagen Group in India, creating a stronger, more efficient organization with enhanced operational synergies.
